What is Vaporware? The reason the rifle is vaporware is because although an awesome piston round, there are already a ton a small caliber rifle cartridges that can hit higher velocity and do the job the .22 TCM would do. Ammo and mag compatibility would be the only advantage.

Gotcha!!
Thanks fellas!!
FWIW, the RIA 22TCM rifle is definitely not vaporware....I may or may not have lost it in a possible boating accident.

I'm not trying to argue, but I just pulled up gunbroker.com, and there a more than a few listed there for sale...new.Yeah, a few were shipped.
But they have always been nearly impossible to find. I’ve only seen one for sale since they were announced years ago.

I think not, not without some hot-rodding. People who shot Ruger-57 on a chrono say it only pushes 1600 fps with change. Actually, it's no different from Five-seveN in that.

110% agree that you can get better performance out of a 16" rifle with other rounds.....this is a bit of a kitschy "toy" round to me....but I really dig it.Hey, that’s great.
I watched for them for a long time and never saw them materialize outside of a few people having them. Might try to pick one up this summer. Not big on Gunbroker though. Will watch Buds.
Thanks
I still think I there are better options for the role they fill, but the compatible mags and ammo make them tempting.

With what? My posts, roughly in the context of this thread, about the TCM and WMR are pretty much limited to some chrono data here and here. The after action report on the gathering that generated that data starts here.Ben, Smitty, a little help?
I want to hear the review as well.....been tempted by those things for awhile now....Since the conversation is covering a wide range of related topics, does anyone have one of those AR uppers that ejects the 5.7 brass down through the magazine well? I have no use for such a thing but the convenience of attaching a bag to catch brass without having some ungainly thing hanging off the side of the rifle always struck me as really, really neat.
If you've got one, tell us what you think of it.
I have seen ballistics testing that said that as well. I was also going through reverse SRP in 2009 in early November at Ft. Hood where a very sad event took place that showed that the 5.7 round is quite effective. If I remember correctly the FBI testing of this round proved to be less than inspiring. I’ll try to dig up the documentation.
