He's been living here for a little bit now. As much as a guy like that "lives" in any one place anyways.

I hope it takes off so I can sell my house for a huge profit and move away.
Ditto, except I'll rent instead of sell. Has been the plan all along... Austin is already too big for me.

Renting is actual work and dealing with people and all kinds of issues. I have been a landlord already and didn't like it at all. I'll stick with Investing. Driving out to Lufkin on Sunday to check out some land there. Also through Marlin for a fixer and land there.

I read an interesting poll the other day that said the vast majority of Californians moving here are actually conservative.
They said the folks most likely to vote Democrat are coming here from the upper East Coast and *immigrants*.
All I know is that the one thing I'm thankful for is they are running up the value of my house and I'm getting ready to retire and move AWAY from this looney bin. I could spin reasons for many a beer on what I loathe and detest about Austin City government.

All of this "Texas is lost" bullshit amuses me.

Little bit of math here folks; combined population of the most leftist, commie cities in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas, El Paso, San Antonio) is a little under 7 million, and maybe 4 million of voters are Democrats. Not ALL are leftist commies.

The entire population of TEXAS is 30 MILLION. Hundreds of little, tiny towns, CONSERVATIVE TOWNS, make up the majority of Texas. Austin's population is 1 million. Out of 30 million.

The tail does not wag the dog in this state.

More than any other state in the union, small towns rule in Texas. And they rule towards American, traditional, conservative thought.

You weren't paying very close attention to the narrow point spread last election.
If those conservatives don't vote they simply may as well not exist.
The Austin liberal machine is motivated - those young people sit on their ass and wear Che tshirts, call each other "comrade" (not kidding) thinking they're in some glorious revolution. The entire town is ate up with liberals that all they can think about is "turning Texas Blue". Bunch of of woke assholes.
Fer chrissakes they mobilized to register *homeless* people to vote against the bill to reinstate the camping ban. I'll also point out it took two tries and a MASSIVE campaign to get the item on the docket.

Thankfully some of the woke bozos here are getting a dose of reality. They are seeing the end results of bad policy and paying the price in blood. Many here in Austin are hopeful about getting some "not leftists" onto council and getting our socialist POS DA out (hopefully on his ear)

You talking about Garza? That clown is one of the worst.
You see where a whistleblower filed a report on being told to destroy evidence?
    He's gotta go.
I was tickled to see that gal whip Jimmy Flannigans butt and take his seat. Commie bastard.
Ellen Troxclair is running for Senate - I plan to help her election committee.
I loved her on the Austin City Council.
