Well bought the reader and it hasn't happened since. This is weird.

It's been off and on for several tanks but I was wondering that myself. At any rate, I'm ready if it starts up again.
No one suggested tightening the gas cap yet? Is the internet broken?
Years ago that problem was caused by cheap gas. I would try a better grade than the cheapest available.
You know, you might actually be on to something here.
This model doesn't have a gas cap, it's one of those capless fuel fillers. The last time this happened was right after filling up. I wonder if the mechanism didn't seal up well enough?
Next step is to try a different brand of gas and see if it returns. Knock on wood, nothing else happens.
Are you going to the same gas station? If so try a different one. Sometimes they get water in the tanks after a good rain.
I really doubt it's the gas cap. That's just the first suggestion I usually hear when discussing car problems.
Not sure a loose gas cap would even cause a misfire. It will trigger a CEL tho.
