While sorting some brass I came across some headstamps worth noting. They reminded me of other headstamps I had in my collection that I thought others may be interested in.

What do you have in your collection that may be worth mentioning?

I thought this 30-M1 headstamp was interesting.

Yes, it is a 30.06 case but as many know commercially loaded 30.06 ammo can damage a M1 Garand. I thought it a good way to label ammo that is safe for a Garand.

I know some manufacturers are loading hunting rounds suitable for Garands so this may be where it came from.

    A 7.62 case marked for a M1A.

I don't recall commercial 308 ammo being bad for a M1A but I could be mistaken.

Just thought the stamp was worth mentioning.

    Odd story on this one.

It appears to be a 30.06 armor penetrating round from 1943. It was either never sent overseas during WWII or brought back by someone.

Somehow it ended up in my dad's hunting ammo collection when he sent his rifles to me to be cleaned and sighted it. No clue where he got it.

Pictured with the other two cases.

The "Texas" marked 45 ACP brass was a short run production batch Midway sold back in the late 80's,if I remember correctly. Have a few hundred of them. Don't recall who made it.

I had about 1000 of the Texan 45s (all new) that I received when buying out a reloader years ago.

They weren't worth much more than range brass to me so sold them for a good offer. I did keep 10 though just as a keepsake.
