I'm looking for good reasons to own a 1911, what are they?

I don't want to rain on your parade, but the fact is 1911's are not the best firearm on the market today, and neither are Glocks BTW.

HOWEVER... in my opinion, most 1911 models are great/reliable handguns that are more than capable of defensive carry. They are also fun to shoot and become proficient with. The design is battle-tested and a proven workhorse that if properly cared for could be passed down your lineage to other family members since the all-steel construction should outlive you.

Life is short, and thus this goes for all gun purchases:
If you want one you should get two, and why bother caring what anyone thinks?

    Go get it.
