Has anyone read any of the "Fair Tax" books?

No income tax whatsoever -- only a sales and use tax -- on everything: goods, services, food, medicine, etc.

The more you can afford to buy, the more tax you pay.

The tax rate is the same for all who participate in the economy, both above and under ground.

Even tax cheats buy everyday goods and services, while the proceeds of their occupations go untaxed.

Dude, if you don't "feel" taxes you make too much money. I always feel them. Don't need to take my stuff, money I seriously need is enough.

Yeah, if you eliminate the concept of withholding and make people actually write a check every month or quarter, that would certainly help make breaking's original point.

It would be an enforcement nightmare for the IRS if they got rid of withholding. I like it!

Or we could just scrap all taxes except for sales and excise taxes. That would fix it real quick. Its the only way that everyone pays - legal, illegal, rich, poor, EVERYONE

Bingo... It would solve more issues than lop-sided taxation, too. The income tax is the only reason why the federal government can keep borrowing, too. Promise of future tax payers and all that...
