Identify the maker of this Colt Single Action Army? replica, please

Long story short. This revolver has been in a friend's family since at least the 1970's. It was bought from a pawn shop in Texas. Caliber is 44-40 according to the cartridges that have been with the pistol since then.
Pistol details - The only markings on the pistol are the matching serial numbers. There is no name, address, caliber or any other markings on the gun.
The imitation staghorn stocks are plastic.
I can't tell for sure, but it looks chromed, not nickel plated.

It's modeled after the black powder version of the Colt - going by the set-screw holding the cylinder pin.

Hard to say. Germany made copies back in the '50's.

It almost looks like the markings on the left side of the barrel have been removed, possibly due to refinishing and application of chrome.

I was thinking Hawes - Sauer when I first saw it based only on those early German made guns, which really were not badly made.

I think it is nickel plated (looks to me as so).......and agree with Baboon...probably a Hawes...
