We only got some dark clouds, lightning and thunder out of it. No rain at all. Power never even flickered in the least.

Prayers to all that did though, and hope that they get power restored quickly.

Our son is stationed at Ft Polk. The post (and town) got hit pretty hard with wind damage, with one fatality downtown. Power is out across the region and isn’t expected to be restored until early next week. Cell service is spotty at best.

The post implemented a restricted movement policy...essentially remain sheltered in place...thru 9a tomorrow as they continue to clear downed power lines. Next update at noon tomorrow.
Thank your son for his service on my behalf Todd

My daughter just bought a house this year in Lake Charles, she's not expecting to have much when they return. :(
That was 8/26 and while not unscathed, her house faired incredibly well. They literally finished fixing the roof today and she just arrived in Alexandria, to the same hotel she'd been in for weeks and officially checked out of this morning, because Lake Charles is under a mandatory evac.

My son just returned home from a month there deployed. His civil affairs unit from Phoenix went thrre right after the last storm.

He said it was pretty bad destruction wise when they got there.

I'll have to ask exactly where he was deployed.

It's his first day back to work with the county and he's counting the days till linemen school here in denton in January. Then they will be moving out here.

All law enforcement sux lately and I dont blame him for being fed up.

Besides lineman make almost 3 times the pay and you know where your danger comes from.

Louisiana has has more'n their fair share - but it is 2020.
