Open your f’ing eyes and use your fingers and look it up yourself.

My buddy filed on one in January and was approved in April. And he doesn’t have any of the “credentials” you have that you believe makes a bit of difference in your approval time. You are no more special than anyone else that files.

Here’s a novel idea, why don’t you call them and get an update on your status.

I just told you you were wrong about approvals not being faster. You are the one who started slinging insults.

So when you called there was no explanation of status? There’s a reason yours is delayed, I have no way of knowing why.

Also, ATF doesn’t run the background check, that’s FBI. I’m in no way defending the ATF, all of the 3 letter agencies suck and are incompetent. The hang up with yours is somewhere with the FBI, not ATF.

Mike you are onto something at least according to the Truth about Guns blog.

Today, the ATF is processing suppressor applications in not only record time but in some instances the same day. Long gone is the wait time barrier and it is drawing shooters and hunters to purchase a suppressor who had previously dreaded long wait time to purchase one. As a result, silencer registration metrics are off the chart.

The now discontinued ATF Firearms Commerce in the United States report displayed the number of silencers that were registered in each state. The May 2021 edition reported 2,664,774 silencers in the U.S., more than doubling the 1.3 million silencers disclosed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) in 2017.
No matter how logical it would be to streamline the process of purchasing a firearm suppressor or better allocate the tax stamp revenue, getting Congress to act will be a Herculean effort.

As it has with gun ownership more broadly, the tide has turned on suppressor ownership, too.
