When I first started buying firearms roughly 30 years ago I had many rifles and just a few pistols. In recent years that has gone completely opposite as I now have many pistols and just a few rifles.

Feel free to mention any preference changes you have had.

Growing up I pretty much exclusively shot rifles, now I pretty much exclusively shoot pistols.
But I still have all the rifles....

Started out with the tacticool stuff. The direction ive been heading in the last couple of years is only keeping and buying firearms I actually use. Ive been spending less and less money each year on it.

Been doin this about 4 years. Mamma actually gig'd everybody (family) into gettin goin with guns. Didnt know hardly squat (still dont) so bought a buncha plastic, even the HiPoints. Dont particularly care to sell so they pile up.

Now that a bit of knowledge sets in I seem to like metal guns and have also leaned heavily towards the AR15 platform.

    pronstar,

I always thought super high quality the only way to go too, until (gasp) I bought a High Point 9mm carbine.

It never fails to go boom and is so ugly it's beautiful.......

    Also, bought a S&W SD9VE 9mm - same thing.

Always goes boom and cost a whopping (I kid - I kid) $300.00 out the door.

I think I’m a brand snob...I’ve sort of moved toward Gucci guns.

I don't shoot revolvers as much as I used to, mainly due to relative ammo prices vs semi-auto calibers. Though I love my 1911s, I practice and shoot my other pistols more than I used to.
