Since this thread has evolved to something a little useful, I’ll recommend dot torture as regular series of drills for defensive pistol practice. It’ll work all the major and fine skills needed in a gunfight in 50 rounds.

I do like the variety. What size are the dots? 3” diameter? My only printing ability is standard paper. I’d have to make them on butcher paper.

Also work on your weak hand shooting. What if your strong hand or arm get injured? Also practice your instinctive shooting from the hip. Remember, most SD encounters are going to be up close and personal.

Also, I practice at 3, 5, 7 and 10 yards. The vast majority of SD shootings, happen within about 20 feet. There is nothing wrong with practicing at longer distances, (and I encourage it.) to gain better accuracy, and accuracy at longer distances usually translates into better accuracy at closer distances.
    I agree 100%!

Once you have the fundamentals: Work on speed up close, precision at distance, but don't forget the importance of fitness.

Try a stress shoot. Index card (4x6) glued to a body target at the CoM or head. 5rnds per stage at 5 or 7yd.

Go run/sprint 200m hard, shoot 5rnds, run again shoot another 5rnds, then do it a third time.

Time it and add time for outside the body, subtract time for index card hits, no time change for body hits. Race your buddy...

If you are getting all index card hits, you're not going fast/hard enough. Add some positional shooting, barricades, kneeling, prone etc if you want.

Getting your heart rate up and breathing hard makes it much more realistic and teaches you to control your body for long enough to get a GOOD shots off.

Stress shooting is the difference between driving granny's Cadillac on the highway trying to not spill the coffee and a sliding your tires at a track day in a McLaren.

2” circles, print on standard 8.5x11. When you can shoot it clean at 3 yds, move to 7, then further as it suits you, but from experience it’s really difficult to master beyond 10yds, even using bright stick ons in the dots.

I've been placing 1" adhesive dots on the back of targets for years.
    It's all I do.
They can be bought on sheets.

ETA: Maybe I should have quoted Todd instead.
