Can't you just tell me what you meant by this? Are you trying to insult me or my wife?
"Why did he think you were ghey?
    Was it your ladysmith?"
No need to get offended. We're all friends here.

    You said:
A Carter Country salesman hit on me at a show.
That's a figure of speech ("hit on me") usually reserved for someone making sexual advances. You were using it in a different way but it would cause most people to do a double-take before they realized it doesn't mean what it, at first reading, seems to mean.

Then craigntx decided to have some fun with it instead being deadly serious, explaining the joke, and killing the humor.

    Like I just did.

Bottom line: I assure you, he was not trying to insult you or your wife.

On that subject, kind of, How about gun show like meeting that we call The Holster Exchange. We all empty the drawer, box, or closet full of holsters we are not going wear again and trade them for a new drawer full of holsters we fully intend to wear. Whaddya think win win. And being Texans we could happen to bring other things like holster fillers to trade.

Good idea! Guns, ammo, and accessories. No dealers!

I find it interesting that in my observations, there is a lot higher percentage of leftys in the shooting community than in the normal population. There are a lot on here.

So it was the 'hit on me' line. I am old. I didn't think of that. Sorry everybody.

We already have a "no dealer" swap meet twice a year. We call it The Family Reunion Meet and have it in Kempner at Shooting Star Gun Range. We even upped our game to have it at a place where you can shoot what you just traded for.

Nobody seems very stoked to show up when it rolls around though.

The last one I went to, no one was doing any swapping. Must have been because of the nice weather. I did sell you that swager, and I sold a Glock to another member.

    Gunz are icky.
Wonder how the folks that operate the range where we have our reunions would feel if we had a mini gun show on their property?
Kinda think they wouldn't like that.

The horse trading threads usually show a little action but usually not much happens at the meets.

If members got serious about it that could easily be changed.

whats the best shows in the Houston area? Just moved into the area and interested in seeing how TX does gun shows.

The Houston Gun Collectors Association show at Reliant Hall.
Its going to have the most rare/oddball/milsurp/classic Fudd type stuff.
Parking and entry $ is a bit steep.

Pasadena Convention Center - free parking+entry$.
Show usually has two or three of the big handgun vendors and a smattering of classic stuff.

All of them have gobs of AR-15 type stuff.

Prices will be from hmmmmm not too bad to I think I can beat that on-line to OH MY GOD! They CAN'T be serious!!!!!!

I don't care for the Pasadena show. Too small of a space with too many people. It is difficult to talk with the dealers one on one.
