I don't think so.

We haven't gotten any reports on him trying any funny business with the ad he posted on March 4 for a truck so I'm certainly willing to cut him a bit of slack.

While the sudden appearance of new posts from a long-dormant account is suspicious, it's not determinative. If he were the typical scammer who had taken over an old account, in the time since his March 4 ad that would have probably become clear.
