    Hi everyone,

Have been looking for some advice, I can’t figure out which orientation the cocking plate should go on the LC Smith Forend. I’ve attached a pic of the plate and also 4 pictures of how it could go on the Forend.

    Many thanks!

Also might as well add some context, I did a surface level clean of it and wanted to get some of the nooks and crannies of the forend, unscrewed the cocking plate and it fell to the ground. Lesson learned, should’ve taken a picture of it.

You may have some luck looking for schematic drawings for L.C. Smith hammerless shotguns.

    Like this.

The formed oh the left looks like yours.
    Thanks!
I’ve tried looking really hard at the pictures online but nobody has really taken a really close up of the forend. I think The right way is to have the flat end touch the bottom, and it’s the short sharp ramp facing outwards.

most likely either #2 or #4

Man - I thought for sure I'd have an answer for you. I pulled out all my SxS's, but every one of them has the cocking thingy inside the metal on the back side of the fore end. The metal on the back side of the fore end just mates up with the bottom of the receiver. If I were a betting man, I'd go with #4. I guess you should just try it without forcing anything and see what works. Best of luck.
