    Yaqui Slide for a 1911

    <>

Have several and they work well, but for OC most of the year.

Great little idea, and perfect for a “just in case” holster if one has to carry a vehicle mounted 1911, unexpectedly.

Here, retired in “peaceful valley”, rarely carry a .45 (1911) any longer.

Never seen a “Yaqui” with tension screws b/f, but it looks good.

Being on the wider side of the population, my experience with a Yaqui style holster consisted mostly of sitting down, getting an arm of the chair under the muzzle, and hearing my gun clatter to the floor.

Ben, Merci a Dieu, I'm no longer on the "wider side", but never had that problem anyway.

I just got a high-ride canted GALCO, like in the movies, and find it more comfortable for 1911's.

I still have and use a bunch of little GALCO "Scout" models which are like IWB Yaqui's.

OK, here is a simple Rock Island Armory, thé Tac 1 when I bought it. Now, I think it’s called the Rock Standard. Installed a GI thumb safety and guide rod. Some two rounds from the holster drills, about ten yards, a few years ago. Standard 230 gr ball. That’s a Lobo “Enhanced Pancake” behind it. A simple 1911/45 that works.

Took a couple of the Brownings out today...

Top one is an EDC. It's had the mag connector removed and a fair amount of trigger work done to get it to sub 3 with a clean break and short reset.

Bottom one needs the same, but it is dead on balls accurate when it delivers a round.

Nice! What all did you have to change to do the trigger job? I’ve got a C&S hammer and an EGW sear I’m waiting to have installed but was wondering if I need anything else

Sighted it in at 25 yards today, shoots great.
