Well, this unicorn came along, so I snagged it outta LA.....
Hogue grips on the big revolvers?
So is that a 1911 made by Briley? Or is it another manufacturer using their spherical bushing and barrel? My S&W has a Briley bushing and barrel.
Blow up the pic - maker's mark is Briley.
Very nice find!
Yessir. Briley was one of my customers before I retired, and they had a LOT of talent inside those walls - this one was the brainchild of Claudio Salassa, who started Briley's Pistol Division. I got to meet and talk with him a few times over the years - he's damned good at 1911's.
nice find. a subset of my collection is made up of CA makers (as well as importers).
The Ruger Redhawk has rosewood grips but I replaced them with old original Pachmayr grips. What a difference in felt recoil. I don't know if they still make any thick Pacmayr grips like that any longer.
The Remington R1 1911 has upgraded OEM grips with the Remington Logo. They were a gift from my son.
The Hogue grips on the S&W Model 17-3 are original on that revolver from the S&W factory (technically not OEM relative to the gun but certainly stock grips as the gun came from the factory).
A hit and a miss. About my usual.
