This morning, Harry Reid, Senate Minority Leader, is quoted on Yahoo that the the National Rifle Association is BAD but the Gun Owners Of America (GOA) is really, really bad! Here's a taste.............

As soon as the GOA office opened at 8am our time, I called and quizzed them at length about the organization. I was satisfied with their answers and joined immediately!

Membership is $20 and they claim a membership of 400K members.

Give it a look. They have a no compromise attitude about gun legislation and lobby members of Congress relentlessly.

GOA assured me that I would not receive junk mailings as the NRA sends after joining. GOA keeps focused on legislation and lobbying exclusively.

(Be advised that you can STOP all such mailings from NRA by calling Membership Services). I won't criticize my NRA!

The fact that GOA pisses off Liberal Democrats, makes my heart sing!

Dirty Harry Reid has been mad at the NRA since membership forced the NRA to stop funneling money into his pocket. This socialist scumbag sold much of the southwest to China. Now they are pumping aquifers dry to grow Hay in the sand they send to China. Of course the Americans in the area are just left hi and dry. All funded by Reid with no small amount of help from the NRA
The NRA has been around for a long long time and has done great good. They seem now to have become the establishment gun rights organization that is too set in their ways to change with the times. Look at their ads. Join GOA for $20 or the NRA for $25 and get a duffle bag.
In spite of everything said above if your going to join a group, get the duffle bag. Now is not a good time to change horses. Perhaps both.

I've been a GOA member for years, as well as being a Benefactor Life NRA member, and a life member of TSRA (Texas State Rifle Association).

Fight the fight the best way you can.

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

Great work, Roger. I just joined!

Thanks! You made a good choice!

I wasn't real clear but I've been an NRA member for almost my entire life. I started as a teen, got pissed about their comprises with Liberals, and dropped the membership. After a few years, the organization changed a lot and I re-joined. Been an NRA member continuously since about 1980. I support NRA 100% and even volunteered for the NRA Foundation! I'm absolutely certain that we would all be knitting instead of shooting had it not been for the NRA!

Still.....It doesn't hurt to have TWO horses pulling our wagon!

I was a member of GOA years ago. I let the membership lapse. I keep my NRA and TSRA dues up-to-date. Maybe I'll re-up my GOA??
NAGR keeps sending me NAGGER adverts in the mail (I call them NAGGER because they won't stop sending/nagging money requests).

I am member of the GOA and find them a lot more proactive than the the NRA and TSRA. I am a lifetime member to the NRA and the TSRA.

I've been thinking about GOA. Any referral bonus you get if we mention you somehow when we join?
