I trust but verify the Wall Street Journal for what most would call news.

Outside of that, I read a wide variety of sources. In areas I take a deep dive, I go to industry and relevant scholarly journals and such as a jumping off point.

I actively avoid MSM when it relates to information as a vast majority is commentary...I like to think for myself, not how others want me to and I don’t particularly need or want confirmation bias to influence the decisions I’m making.

IMHO, it would be extremely wise to view the entirety of that article with a huge degree ofnl scepticism...Any viable/accurate info or perspectives in that are getting lost in the bullshit.

tl;dr: I'm not going to waste my time "red lining", but suffice it to say that the whole thing is rife with confirmation bias, leading to a bunch of falsely-premised arguments and erroneous conclusions/statements (which are then compounded on).

Overall, it read like a 'stream-of-consciousness' dump (cleaned-up) and argumentative/whiney in nature...kinda like a disgruntled worker with a few drinks in them, trying ad-nauseum to make a convoluted point.

I’m an idiot, sorry for sharing. I should stick to browsing the classifieds and leave you journalism experts to it.

The CDC can’t make their mind up.

Just to be clear, I wasn't digging on you at all...It was a fair post and honest feedback given.

That said, I've become particularly intolerant of BS masquerading as gospel, particularly because it can easily look legit if presented properly (disingenuous or genuinely erroneous makes little difference in the end), and will often feel almost compelled to tear the bullshit arguments to shreds with logic.

It's not about journalism, it's about intellectual honesty, validity of knowledge/perspective, sound application of scientific methodology & reasoning, and perhaps at least just a touch of humility...

I’m just sensitive right now haha.
This shitshow has everyone on edge. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just me but I have a 5 year old son of my own and a 7,8 and 10 year old step kids that are about to have to go through some crazy shit just to go to school. Kids shouldn’t have to deal with this crap, they should be having a good childhood. I really don’t want my son remembering a bunch of draconian mask wearing and social distancing during kindergarten. It’s gone too far.

No sweat. We're all impacted by this right now. I have two young kids myself so dealing with helping them understand it and dealing with the adults is fun.

If any of you haven’t listened to Dan check him out. He has an interesting history (secret service, LEO, politics) and is just a red blooded biscuit head like many of us. Today’s show covers what we’ve all been duscussing here and everywhere.
