The AdBlock Plus extension has disappeared from my Chrome browser in the last couple of days and I am unable to reinstall it even though it still shows available in the Chrome web store.

Other than to switch, any advice for Chrome users?

I did manage to add it to Chrome just now and it's working. Strange....I'll keep an eye on it and see if it goes away.

ETA-- I added AD BLOCK, not AD BLOCK PLUS. Is there a big difference?

Don't know, but I will find out as I am going to try and install it.

ETA: Not related to Adblock Plus: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AdBlock

ETA#2: Just installed it so I'll come back to say how well it works

ETA#3: Works great so far. Went back to a site
( https://www.digitaltrends.com/web/best-ad-blockers-for-chrome/ ) that was totally littered with ads and banners and they were all gone now.

Thanks, I thought they were the same and have been using it on Firefox for years. Has always worked well there.

Fire Fox just notified me that they have disabled Ad Blocker Plus. What the hell? It won't let me download Ublock Origin either. I want to stay with Firefox. What are some good alternative ad blockers?

AdBlock and all others have been disabled on Firefox too. There are numerous complaints and posts from people saying the same thing. The extensions can't be downloaded because of a signing error. Here is the post with the best answer:

"We rolled-out a fix for release, beta and nightly users on Desktop. The fix will be automatically applied in the background within the next few hours, you don’t need to take active steps.

In order to be able to provide this fix on short notice, we are using the Studies system. You can check if you have studies enabled by going to Firefox Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Allow Firefox to install and run studies.

You can disable studies again after your add-ons have been re-enabled.

We are working on a general fix that doesn’t need to rely on this and will keep you updated"

This was from Mozilla addon help.
