Also - I'm in the midst of negotiating on a fairly wide variety of ammo from a collector's estate. No details YET - mostly .22, 9mm, 45ACP, 30 cal and 30-06 SPGFLD. My intent is to do a bulk buy of everything she has IF she's willing to price it pre-panic. IF it gets worked out, I'll post it up on the ammo for sale forum. Up front - no, I ain't gonna ship it or hold it unless you're paying for it up front.

Ain't gonna be no vultures...lol While I have NO intention of screwing w/the ammo as long as I did the other, I'm not gonna let one person load out on it all (except, perhaps the .22 ammo - my SIL may need some for the grands - and with 6 of 'em, they can suck down ammo quick, lol). We'll see - I've asked the ammo owner for a price on ALL the ammo. If she's reasonable, I'll go cash her out. If not, she can sell it out herself. Way too much work to screw with unless it's over and done with quickly.

    Corrosive Primer 7.62x39 ammo. $289.50 per 1,000 + shipping

So the story with this ammo starts with Covid19 shutting down the primer factory in Russia in April and May 2020, making primers very hard to get in Russia in 2020. The Vympel factory could not source primers for regular production so they disassembled a stockpile of 1970s vintage military surplus ammo harvesting the primed case, then stenciled their logo and '7.62x39' on the case and used that primed case to load lead core commercial ammo for the US market. The lacquered steel case retains its original corrosive primer then was loaded with a lead core bi-metal jacket magnetic projectile, and a sealant was applied to the case mouth to water proof the ammo.

Yep the last three cases I bought long ago were about $200 a thousand.

I went to an Academy the last week of February 2020, and saw empty shelves. I went home and ordered 2 cases of Wolf steel case 7.62X39 for just under $400 shipped. Glad I did, because it went downhill quick after that!
