Got 78 plants coming up, man I can't wait fer a big mess of fried okra with jalapeno's n onions. I can eat that stuff everyday.
May try my hand at pickling some too with an added kick of Habs and jalapeno's.

Glad to see your frying it, can't stand to see good okra wasted in boiling water.

Now I want some fried squash.

I've been looking for some good fresh okra in stores and have not found any at all this year. One produce manager at Brookshire's told me that it was a bad year for the stuff and that they were having to throw out just about every shipment they recieved.

Boiled Okra and Tomatoes is a staple in the deep south. Nothing more nasty in my book, but the wife loves it. My Grandma would fry it in corn meal, that was the best Okra in the world. Pickled Okra is a favorite salad bar item too. You can even eat the little stims. Man-O-man sooooooo goooood!!!
