Going hunting in Austin county (outside Sealy, Tx) south of i-10

As the title states, I'm going waterfowl hunting on Sunday just south of I-10 in Austin county. I'm 24, have a hunting license, and own a Remington 870.

I've been told that I also need to have a gun safety or shotgun handling license. Is there any truth to this or am I fine to hunt this Sunday as long as I am not reckless?

Hunters Safety Course is what your missing. You have a one year grace period if this is your first outing. Make sure you have the plug dowel in your mag on the 870. No more than 2 in the tube & 1 in the chamber. Good luck and be safe! Post up what you bag in the hunting section.atriot:
