I was looking at getting a reciever end plate to attach my sling to. Most of the ones on-line say they are for collapsable stocks, but I have the standard A2 stock. I was looking at this one.

GG&G Receiver End Plate Slot Sling Mount Adapter Right Hand AR-15 Fixed Stock Aluminum Matte - MidwayUSA

I took the screws off the back of my butt stock. It looks like I can just slide this puppy on and screw it all back together. Is it that simple?

I didn't see any part that it was replacing. Does it just make the stock that much longer?

Does anyone carry this kind of stuff around San Antonio.

Pretty easy with an A2. Didn't look to see what the GG&G looks like or costs but you might check the ones offered on Gear Sector. Another of the favorites of the AR gurus.

Now that I'm picturing the assembly in my head, you may still want to get a washer the same thickness as this part to install between the buttplate and the buffer tube extension. If I'm thinking correctly, placing something between your stock and receiver will put a gap between your buttplate and buffer tube extension. It will still work without, but you will hear a rattling noise as your extension won’t be held in place tightly.

The GG&G plate comes with an adapter spacer and a longer screw. This isn't UTG stuff. Everything you need to install it correctly is included.

It finally got here. It looks good and installation was easy.

At least now, if I ever sell my rifle, I can call it "custom" and charge $300 extra for the work.
