I’m in favor of installing the retractable posts made of 7” 0.75” wall. If your speed is more than 10% over the speed limit the posts don’t retract. Annecy, France has them in the town square, not for speed cont, but access control to a side street. I saw a C2V high in the air when it tried to coattail another car. Warmed my heart it did.
