From what I understand, the person that made that call, didn't call 911. He purposely didn't want to make it an emergency, just a courtesy.

Looks like this rouge coward "cop" will receive justice. Where is the justice for Mark Parkinson? His murderer is still walking the streets.

That's the shame of it and a reason things go unreported, there is a lot of distrust in the law.

Cities need to invest in law enforcement. They love to pay for fancy parks and other non essentials while overworking and underpaying police. They need to pay, hire and train better.

Median salary in Ft Worth is 76,000. That is more than most people make. That should be enough.

I have seen videos of lots of shootings where cops intentionally and necessarily shoot in the middle of commands. Bad guys are often going through the motions of trying to draw or whatever and the cop will verbally try to tell them to stop but because the bad guy continues to move aggressively, the cop fires in the middle of commands. Not saying that is what happened, only that when the cop fired does not indicate one way or the other about whether or not he had a ND. His sights were obviously on target.

Cities do need to invest in law enforcement. They need to invest in teachers. They need to invest in roads. Money needs to be put into a lot of things, but the general public doesn't want to pay for that. They don't want to pay for more offers. They don't want to pay for more training. They don't want to pay for more highly skilled school teachers. I don't know a single landowner without some sort of exemption (ag, age, open space, etc.) that doesn't fight their taxes to pay as little as they can possibly get away with paying.

Parks are not non-essential. Parks are actually very significant to the health of cities on several levels.

Salary wise that should be enough given median income in DFW is $59k. However, the investment in LEO is a bit more complicated than simple salary.

It’s a profession, just like Medicine, engineering... It’s not a social experiment. They need to invest in recruiting folks with the correct skills and more importantly the correct mindset. They need to train the correct skill sets to handle issues created by criminals. They need to continue to train those skills to keep them sharp. They also need to stop kissing SJW asses and throwing officers under a bus every time someone gets their panties in a bunch.

I wish it were as simple as a pay raise and viola bad ass cops show up in masse. Don’t work like that.

    Yep.

Salary is not the issue, image of the profession is what is driving the most qualified individuals elsewhere.
