    Saw this news on another forum. It is worthy of consideration on a number of levels: Caliber (this is probably 9nn), tactics, deescalation, defunding police resulting in staffing shortages, etc.


    Two things I would note: 1) sometimes nothing will deter a determined bad guy and 2) many (most?) departments do not allow tasers when only one officer is present,

    Based on what he was saying and his intentional posturing prior to the altercation it does seem like suicide by cop. She could have chosen to deescalate prior to drawing her weapon knowing by that point the subject was not in the correct state of mind and retreat until another officer/'s could provide backup likely negating the risk of officer safety and the outcome could have been more positive for both parties. Plenty of what if's possible but if you weren't there, you don't know.
