You got that right........accounts for more deaths (domestically) than any other round.....and.....with a well placed shot....can also take down....man, deer, hog, rabbit, squirrel.

    Don't underestimate the .22LR
People need to understand statistics and mathematics before making these statements.

.22 is involved in more shootings, this does not mean it is a more effective round. One needs to look at the percentage of deaths incurred by a caliber, not the total quantity.

Also, it does not mean it is more effective at stopping the threat. The way a .22 can bounce around inside the body (re: Reagan), it can cause internal bleeding which can lead to death. But bleed out leaves the threat capable for several minutes.

Sure a well placed shot can kill anything, including in a self defense scenario. But under the stress of an attack, fine motor skills normally degrade. Shot placement becomes a challenge when adrenaline is pumping, the heart is beating so hard you can hear it in your ears, emotions are sky high, etc.

I understand........22 LR is not my go to......but it kills......it is cheap.....and will probably never be subject to restrictions like centerfire ammo might be.

I think this story proves that Glocks are more effective for personal defense than other handguns, especially 1911s. :twin:
