Anyone put together their own Firearm Inventory Record? I started one by taking pictures, logging serial numbers and writing descriptions. What do you recommend for researching values ….internet, gun guides, etc?

More concerned about value for insurance purposes. Loss or theft.

Unless it’s rare or collectible, figure 85% of street pricing for a used gun that’s still available new. For the stuff not available new, look at gunbroker listings of recent sales.

For the rare/collectible, either a gun digest gun values subscription for a month or get it appraised.

At that point, start looking at firearm specific policies instead. Also look at those if total value or individual replacement value exceeds your homeowners or vpp policy limits.

I did that about 20 or so years ago. 80% of those guns are long gone. It was fun to look back and remember all of those that past through my hands. The days of old.
Same here, makes me wax nostalgic. Also also kept a card file on loading each type of round. Card file in in the safe still. Just pulled the card on 45 ACP 230gr. It has pricing. Dated 1982. With Speer JHP it came to .12 per round.

When I used to buy factory or commercial reloads I could get 50 rnds 44 mags or 50 rnds 45 colts for $12-$14.
New PMC 223 were $2 for a box of 20.
