    So, I just finished my budget plinker. I assembled a del-ton M4 rifle kit on a CMMG lower. Del-ton says that they headspace and test fire. Should I take it to get checked again for head space by a gunsmith prior to firing?

    All prices with shiiping/Tax where applicable.

    Stripped CMMG lower = 104.00
    Tapco 30 Rnd Black Magazine = 10.24
    Del-ton M4 Rifle Kit = 507.23
    Rear Sight = 32.46
    total = 653.93

    That seems to be a good price to me. I wanted the easiest solution and del-ton seemed to have the most complete kit in my eyes.

    Yeah, I didn't notice this was rimfire, hopefully a mod will move it.

    Nice job. Only question - what about the rear sight? Was that included or was that an extra?

    I forgot the sight, it was 32.46 including tax. That makes the total $ 653.93.

    In order to get an AR below the 500-600 range would require using used parts or it's .22 version? I could be wrong though.

    I'll bite. I know how to get in the $500-$600 range. How do you get in the $300-400 range? And what is the trade off?
    most people buy a basic ar and before shooting it much or even at all begin to change it, they sell their factory stuff and you pick it up you can buy a complete plum crazy lower for 140 bucks which would be pretty cheap unless you are like me and have alot of extra lpk parts.
