Ok I have some Hornady 308 168gr ELD Match and some Sierra 168gr TMP bullets and looking for load suggestions. I thought I would start with Varget @ 41.5gr and ladder up. Hornady shows the max at 44gr. Sierra's new book isn't out for a few days so going to try the same load for both bullets and see which one the rifle likes. Not for hunting, one hole paper punch

    Bergara HMR-14 20" barrel 1-10 twist
Cases are Federal Match, once fired, trimmed, flash hole cut, neck sized
    CCI BR-2 primers
    COAL 2.800

    Thoughts, suggestions?

I always used 175 or 178 grain bullets and IMR 4064 but I think you are on the right track with those componants.

308 works well with a pretty wide variety of options.

    Out here by the lake!
I'd have to dig them our but for hunting I had two different loads both 180 grains one was with the old Barnes blue coated bullet the other was combined technologies ballistic tips. I worked them up for Africa and the both worked like a charm. My buddy took his leopard with the ballistic tip

Years ago I had excellent results with 168 SMK and 40 gr. of H4895. Quit shooting rifles in 1999 so your results could vary.

ELD doesn't have much drive band surface so slower powder is probably better. RL15?

Hard to go wrong with those bullets and most good powders out there. Varget, 4064, TAC, or even 2520 have shown me great results.
