    All they needed, to keep from cutting off his antlers, was a 20v angle grinder...

    Glad they removed the tire. Was no need to cut his Antlers. Cut the outside of the tire with a power tool, or hand saw, then use tin snips to cut what’s left of the sidewall and bead area to not hurt the elk.

    I think the time it took for a cut played heavily into the decision. Faster to cut horns than the tire.

    Hope he gets through this season, his antlers will grow back next year. The game wardens shoud take the antlers to someone who makes elk antler handled knives, or handgun grips, and auction the products off to privide funds for helping other animals so entrapped.
