It would not surprise me one bit if they tried to ban ownership of precious metals with the introduction of digital currency. Can’t have they plebs trading outside of the system…
Ah - and that is why I watch the bullion thread -
    - not so much (personally) for prepping or investment reasons - but because of the influx of States making PMs into legal tender again! Feds would have a hard time outlawing PM ownership in that event.

    OKLAHOMA, TEXAS, WEST VIRGINIA

Bills in these states have similar language including that financial institutions may not decline "lawful payment card transactions" based on the assignment of a firearms code, and may not charge merchants higher transaction or interchange fees based on the codes. West Virginia's bill was passed by the state House of Delegates on Feb. 3 and awaits further action in the state Senate. Oklahoma's bill was introduced on Jan. 18. The Texas bill was introduced on Feb. 24.
The whole thing is going to be a mess; national banks with different regs for different states, national retail outlets with stores in various states... Maybe if it gets bad enough all gun laws and regs will be tossed out the nearest 2A window. :D

Yeah, I know, but a girl can dream, can't she?

Florida and Mississippi sound like the best proposals. Texas just says the transaction cannot be declined and no extra fees can be assessed. The most important part regarding using the the codes themselves isnt even addressed.

Probably, because there is no legal precedent or even theory on what a private corporation you choose to do business with can do with the data you agree to supply them. Your transaction details are currently being analyzed, bought and sold (most likely with states doing some the selling and buying) and as of now, the additional code makes no real difference. These banks know exactly where you spend today and fi anyone like the ATF asks, they fork that info over.

Until they start DOING something to deny or in other way hamper your ability to carry out your desired legal business, there is no legal standing for action.

Honestly, the BEST thing that can happen here is that these codes get used so much that they become the highest runner across the nation. gun stores need to start selling eggs at a discount and drive up the usage to overwhelming levels.
