The Federal Central Government has become such a monstrosity that the only way to reform it would be to abolish it by force. That's unlikely to happen.

What's scarier is these 3 letter agencies that are absolutely in control of events and do so autonomously and unilaterally without any oversight or supervision from any elected official. Scary as hell.
I have begun to fear you are correct.

Why do you think Dick Durbin proposed illegal aliens be able to enlist in the armed forces? Much like the previous civil war, there were many that defected from their military positions to join the opposition. The last thing we need is a force that has no obligations to those it swore to protect.

Oddly enough, this trailer dropped today....

It is a very bad idea. My ancestors went through that once. Oral traditions about the dark side of that still exist. What happened and not put in the history books.

War is an absolute last resort. They intend to crash the economy and starve us into subjection. Have not doubt that is what they "think". (if they have a brain, they won't try, I see nothing to indicate they have a brain.)

    Hey @BigRed - this one's for you, my like-minded friend. :)

    He gets it!

    Just one note:
It was not a civil war. The seceding states did not have as their objective the take over of the central government. They simply wanted to leave it.

    Civil war? No.

    War of northern aggression.
    War to prevent southern independence.
    War between the States.
    Sure...

@BigRed posted this in another thread but it clearly makes the case as to how this Federal behemoth is not only ungovernable but no longer capable of effectively functioning to any degree. It was filmed in 2015 and is even more relevant now.

We're already moving towards the point of State governments being too large; some more than others. No easy answers, imo. And, it's not easy to watch something that was so great collapse under its own weight, but all things change and there ya are.

Thanks for the excellent link from January 2015. It is much more relevant today.

    Dallas Texas or so
Before the Civil War we were
    "These United States"

    After the war it was

    "The United States "

Big difference..and not for the better
It was well past WWI that people started identifying as Americans first and Kansans, Texans, Virginians etc. second. The Army was largely organized by regiments, battalions etc. from the same state.

Interesting. I'd like to hear his plan for managing the US defense from international enemies. Who he envisions to build and coordinate the army, navy, aircraft, ships, submarines, etc. to protect these autonomous states.
Common currency and national defense are two of the valid purposes of DC.

DC has become the District of Corruption.

Nothing short of eliminating 1/2 of what goes on in DC will even touch fixing the disaster we face.

This proposition on the 2024 Texas GOP Primary Election carried solidly and should not be ignored.

    Republican Proposition 7

The Texas Legislature should establish authority within the Texas State Comptroller’s office to administer access to gold and silver through the Texas Bullion Depository for use as legal tender.

(This is first step to powerful stable growth and independent strength)

It's a good thing, imo, that Texas is taking such steps. It will help, down the road.

Some may wonder why even talk about all this? We all know it'll never happen; Texit will never happen; the Republic of Texas will never (peacefully) rise again... so why spend the time and energy even thinking about it let alone flappin our gums?

Because. Because eventually the USA will cease to exist. Us old farts hope we're dead and gone before it happens, but happen it will and you young'uns will need to decide how you're going to do things next. I hope y'all can keep govt as small and localized as possible; based on personal responsibility and freedom.

And until then, we'll keep yammerin on about it cause that's what we do. :)
