This is all well and good, if we gain conservative representatives and not left-leaning ones, and those states losing reps, are losing left-leaning reps.

I'll adopt a wait and see attitude to see what happens.

Yes; Texas will go from 38 to 40 Electoral College votes. (Still well behind California in EC votes & Congressional seats).

As of the 2020 census, Texas’ population is 29,145,505. Federal Congressional Districts will increase from 36 to 38.

Federal House District boundaries, as well as state House & Senate boundaries have to be drawn by the end of September. And as ToddnJoyce said in Post #4, Gov. Abbott will undoubtedly have to call a special session of the Texas legislature to draw these boundaries.

I think they’re more interested in the two Democratic senators that DC statehood would provide. It would give them and almost insurmountable majority of the senators. Especially if they want to add Puerto Rico is a state also.
