I've got a Kwikset entry set that has the handle with thumb latch on the outside and on the inside it has a knob.

The knob has come off and I'm having a hell of a time getting it back on. From what I can see it's a blind knob. I can't find a way to take the knob off the plate, there's no allen screw holding it on.

    Any idea?

I apologize for posting that. I think I know what you are talking about and looking at the YouTubes to see what they have.

Right. I keep thinking there must be something covering a screw somewhere.

Kwikset seems to be junk, I'd take the opportunity to replace it with something better. Next time I have one fail, I'm doing my whole house.

I believe he is trying to get the knob back on. Maybe he needs to have the knob in the right position for the something to snap in place.

Pop the cover ring off, you'll see a set screw on the shaft behind it. Backing the screw out secures the knob. Then, snap the cover ring back on.

Drill it out and buy a schlage? Both are consumer level cruft, but schlage tends to be much better.

Or do the cover ring thing. IIRC it's just held on with a little indentation dimple and it will turn/pull off.
