I have a Daniel Defense DD5 V1 and i am looking to load for it. I quite like the finish of hornady die sets. Anyone know if the Hornady .308 dies will size the cases sufficiently for the AR10? Or should I buy small base dies instead. I currently have RCBS small base for my AR15.

Have you ever tried regular dies for your AR15?

I don't think many rifles really need small base dies. There are exceptions but not many.

Never had an issue with my Lee dies for AR15 or AR10 reloads.

    .
Not tried any other dies for the AR15, just went with forum advice. The RCBS work well, but i have a few sets of hornady dies for other cartridges and like the set up. So would prefer to buy those for the .308.

I emailed Hornady, they said there dies are reamed to minimum spec so they will be ok for autos.

Per popper, MG fired cases require SB base dies for sizing.
Plus side of sizing it yourself is you'll know it's once fired. I bought a bunch(~5k)of 9mm brass that I needed sized, I ran it through my Lee 9mm die and it's all good now.
