Only had one experience with Dick's. Went into the store at The Rim in SA. Walked through the gun section, looking to see if I could find some percussion caps, back during the great shortage. Couldn't find any. Clerk asked if he could help me find anything. I told him I was looking for percussion caps. He looked at me, and swear he asked me back, "Have you looked in the men's wear section? That's where the hats and caps are."
All I could do to keep from bursting out laughing at him. Why would anyone do business with morons like that?

I am a regular at golf. At least 2 times a week. I won't use Dick's for any sporting equipment.

When in Phoenix about 10 years ago I went to one of those stores (see what I did? Not going to set myself up for the out of context thread). I was initially impressed with the selection and comprehensive inventory. But Everything was at full bore retail or “Preacher’s discount” (list price plus 20 %). I mean Nothing was marked down. I couldn’t find anything that I had to have at those prices.
