States rights? Dems don't want that.

Their endpoint is a "benevolent dictatorship" with themselves in charge, telling every state what to do. These other things you mention are just stepping stones.

You’re making my point, they don’t want it, but will use it to justify the upcoming mail-in election since the voting process is a right reserved to the state.

The central party apparatus is following the path of least resistance to achieve their desired end state. The Rs on the other hand don’t seem to appreciate the threat.

The states already control most of the voting methods locations eligibility absentee voting. It all varies state to state. The feds control the day and when the college votes.

Some states may go to u universal mail in voting, others may not. I think it is to close to election day to start changing methods without court action.

Already happened, and the court upheld the extension, so the date is no longer controlled.

ETA: there are at least 248 lawsuits in 45 states, DC, and Puerto Rico related to this year’s election.

Here’s a subset of the major cases above

Pretty good conversation closing nuclear vs ca propensity to wind farms and solar. PA extends states mail in ballot deadline. States rights and we are on the cusp to becoming socialist, if Biden actually pulls off a win. If that happens we can expect high gas prices, more taxes more windfarms that will kill migratory birds electricity that may or may not work like california, much higher taxes, free health, welfare and other goodies for illegals and anyone who choses not to work that we will pay for in taxes if there are any jobs left after companies move back to Mexico and China. Obama care running rampart with no one getting good care especially us old farts. Just pray Trump wins or we might just have to put our head between our legs and kiss our ass goodbye. We are just about a month and a half from a hostile takeover of the greatest country on earth. IMHO don't talk about it vote we have a lot of dead votes to overcome.

You forgot the part about getting paid more on unemployment that it’s worth to work.

I believe that to be a method of "recruiting" people to socialism. Promise them all the freebies, to entice them to vote Democrat. And there are plenty our there that have no desire to work, or any self-respect or even any self esteem, so getting something for free, without any energy on their part, other than voting Democrat, is very appealing to them.

In '50s, we fought to help South Korea remain independent. In the '60s and '70's, we fought to help South Vietnam remain independent. Yet, in the 1860's, we fought to keep the South part of the union. What changed?

Liberals were successful in spreading their ideology.

And people began to abandon the Judea/Christian values upon which this country was founded.

Everything. In the 1860s, there were people alive who fought in the Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812. The British and other "Big Fish" were out there, and we were still a guppy in the pond, and we could easily be swallowed. Breaking up the nation would mean that it would be much easier for Britain to return and conquer us, and make us a colony again, or France, or etc. The same reason slavery was not addressed in the Constitution -- some people realized that we needed to do whatever it took to keep the union together, or we'd all be at risk of getting conquered.

Do I think they went about it in the smartest way? No, but that's another thread.

By the Korean War, we were the rulers of the world, thanks to WW2. We were unchallenged atop all nations. This was our planet, and we were not going allow communism to mess it up. Don't like it? Too damn bad, we're the Biggest Fish that has ever lived, and this is our pond now.

Do I think they went about it in the smartest way? No, but that's another thread, too.

Definitely a lot of similarities. I don't think the Peaceful Protests™ are going the way they expected, tho...
