About a year ago I changed styles of Deadlift to Sumo from conventional

Sumo seems to fit my leg length better and it's let me develop my quads and gluten. I also added heavy Romanian Deadlifts every week to work on hamstrings
I've been lifting in the med 300 lb range higher reps and last week it was flying up fast so I loaded 405lbs on the bar..the most I've attempted in a year and it came up faster than that weight ever has. I could have got 2 reps easy.

I'm having a blast in the gym and still getting stronger even in my early 50s.

    That's pretty damn heavy!

I've never really worked legs..... Like ever. When I was in the army i figured all the running was my leg workout. Back then i also focused on chest and biceps because that's what I saw in the mirror.

I've been working legs for a few months now twice a week. I have a long way to go. And I'm also being very careful not to hurt myself.

Last week I did my heaviest with 3 reps at 235#

If I tried that I'd have rods screws and other assorted hardware blowing out of my back.

The noise of the discs I have left exploding would rival a 4th of July fireworks finale.

Nice work! I’ve only ever tried pulling sumo a couple times with light weight, and maybe it’s just from not giving it enough time, but it just felt weird, so I end up sticking with conventional.

They both have their unique benefits. I have super long femurs. And it suits me better when i go heavier
    I prefer conventional tho

Sumo built my glutes and quads more

Impressive!! Have you tried turning one hand around?
I don’t know why but lifting that way adds 25lbs to deadlift workouts with same effort hands the same way.
