I’ve heard of one dealer in Ohio that says he has ‘em in stock, and that’s a recent addition as the DWX was always a mid-2020 release, and nobody knows how the factory being shuttered impacted production.

I personally am not aware of anyone who has purchased one, and can’t find any mention of one being in the wild yet.

If you do an internet search for the DWX Compact you will find several places to shop for one. None of them have one in stock.
The look of the pistol sort of intrigues me. It reminds me of a cross between a typical 1911 and a pineapple hand grenade we had back in the Army.
I am not in a hurry to buy something that expensive without learning about someones hands on experience with the pistol. These on-line reviewers don't always tell you the facts. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you".

What we know is the DWX will accept a P10 magazine, so there’s probably some DNA in the grip.

Other than that, I share your thoughts.

I've been a DW fan since the days of the pork chops shrouded. 357.

Have several of their 1911s but since the started trying to be all things to all 1911 fans, I've kinda lost interest in the brand.

The bean counters are ruling the roost. Put less expensive parts in a product and still charge the same retail price as before means more money in the investors pockets. It also means we spend more money at our local gunsmiths getting the pistol upgraded. Capitalism at its best.
