    Here are my workouts today
This morning I hit bench press, close grip bench press, core work and trained triceps with cable and skull crushers
Then spent several hours behind the desk and 2 in line at the driver license office....so at 4 I went back to the gym and hit the treadmill for cardio and did some more upper body work.
I’m getting ready to do an 8 week cut soon, gotta warm up to the idea of more cardio....
    brisket sandwiches for dinner!

Excercise is bad for the joints. For those who are worried about being too fat...moving over to light beer is how I lost all my weight.

I know you meant that tongue and cheek but it has actually improved my shoulder and hips tremendously.
When I started lifting , my shoulders were jacked up and lose. They made popping sounds when I was starting out with no pain, but they were just loose. The weights have strengthened my shoulders greatly.
If you think about it, we are all just a sack of bones wrapped up in flesh with tendons and other tissue connecting the bones (your frame) to the flesh.
The more out of shape and flabby your body is, the frame work gets out of whack. Back and joint problems.

Makes sense to me. Had an old pal who ruptured a disk trying to load up a passed out drunk. The doc said it was caused by having flabby muscles supporting his spine. When the boy got out of surgery he was a decicated working outter type guy. He said he didnt want any more mylograms.

Just installed this app called Female fitnes. Good grief! I just did an intense 8 minute work out under the 28 day full body challenge, and I can't catch my breath. I am literally drenched in sweat.

I always thought senior folks should do aerobic exercise more and low weight repetitions? 65 YOAs wanna a good ticker not bigger pecs.

Core building, stretching, and muscle building is what I try to concentrate on.

Strength and resistance training has many benefits for older men as well. It's really all about the individual when you start to get older, but for the most part it's a good idea. It's definitely harder to repair and recover as you get older, but as long as you scale it to your individual needs, it's not bad at all.

Rather than finish with cardio and abs, which were basically skipped, I’m now starting all of my workouts with them.

I agree that core strength is important to help prevent back problems as we age

I have been 30 lbs overweight for at least a decade. My wife bought me a stationary bike for Christmas last year. I used it a few times and let it sit till about 2 months ago. I started using it for half an hour 7 days week and am now down to 168 pounds. Another 8 pounds and I will be where I want to be.

I start my work outs by putting on braces and gloves/wrist straps. Does that count as a warm up?

Seems like these days if I tweak something with the weights, it takes forever before the discomfort goes away.

Who ever dreamed they would need an elbow brace? Can't work out without them now it seems.

Ok, everyone. Let's have a little accountability. After sitting on my butt for too many weeks I'm back up to 207 lb. after being down to 190. My workout routine is shot.

Went for a run today. 2.5 miles in 41 minutes. Ok, I walked most of it and sore as hell now. Plan to improve that everyday.

    Who else worked out today?

Everyday, up before the enemy. The USMC ruined my ability to sleep in.
