Don't bother! They will be gone when current stock runs out. Nice if you watch in fixed location, pits when off to the side. Most are OLED (flexible plastic screen with low lumen output) and brightness drops off fast.

Curved computer monitors make sense more so than TV's. You're typically far enough away to see the entire screen without the screen fading from angle of view on a TV, but you typically will have many viewers watching from further away at many angles and the viewing angle with not be as ideal for them, skewing some of the colors a bit or making the screen appear faded. Highly recommend ultra wide curves monitors, hard pass on TV

I figured most high quality TVs now could be viewed from a slight angle and not be an issue.
    Haven't bought one in years.

Tech has gotten pretty good since you last saw one, methinks.

Modern TV’s actually allow you to view them at quite obtuse angles

    Wut?

    I'm watching TV right now.
    It's all I do....

    :green:

ETA: I have no issues watching my TVs at an angle.
But, my recliner is located about 12ft away from my screen, dead center.

Had a curved 65”. Now have a flat 65”. When I bought it I walked to the side of the displayed tv, and there was a large off angle difference from substantial to barely noticeable. All of them look great from the front. The top and bottom angle will look different than side to side. It is worth looking at it at the same angle you are going to install it before you buy.

They need to bring back Plasma.

Still watching my Panasonic 65" ZT that I bought in 2013. Great picture. But would like a 65" 4K with Dolby Vision. I like the Sony OLED. But don't like the price. Maybe by Christmas or the Super Bowl I'll upgrade. Vizio is coming out with OLED later this year. So that should put pressure on LG and Sony to drop the prices of their OLED.

My 50” Samsung Plasma I bought back around 2010 shut off last Friday and wouldn’t turn back on. Have had several people tell me I should upgrade but the old plasma is going in the shop for repair. It’s most likely the power supply and I know the right people through work so if it can be fixed it will only cost around $150.

In the mean time I picked up a 43” Samsung Crystal UHD. The online channels are neat I guess, but it just doesn’t look “right” to me. Can’t put my finger on it. Something about LED screens just seem different.

Another thing I’ve noticed about LED screens is that many of them outside of the top tier lineups don’t have consistent lighting across the panel. It’s most noticeable if the screen is mostly a solid light color. And the lower end models usually aren’t very bright at all.

They’re heavy, but I don’t move my TV often so it’s not a big deal to me. The biggest complaint with plasma was the reflective glass screen. Never bothered me though. Texas is hot so if the sun is up we have the shades drawn.

Flat 75 inch at about 35 degrees off center.

No problem but its probably so big it wouldnt matter in most rooms.

Go big and it doesn't matter. Besides curved costs more.

If I were to buy another TV, it would be flat OLED. Worth the extra money on OLED for the detail. I currently have a Samsung Q70, which for not an OLED, looks amazing

The plasma TV's were Radio Frequency Interference generators (RFI) and among the worst things ever. The FCC banned them IIRC because of it. Any ham radio operator in your neighborhood knew exactly when you turned it on every day as the noise wiped out his radio. Verboten
