Consider a fixed 10x. The SWFA super sniper is a good, durable choice on the budget end of the spectrum. They have variables but i have no experience with them.

Get a refund. Use iron sights. If it's chinesium garbage it's probably got a piece of electrical tape inside instead of an erector spring.

Honestly, I’ll recommend straight iron sights then. The first half or more of my military career (I retired in 2016) was shooting iron sights and they work just fine.
