I was amused by a (foreign) gal driving her kids and she had a mask on in the car. Gets home and surely she takes it of. Silly - non-functional brain.

I work in the sun daily. My Vit D was fine my last lab run. My doctor still suggested the. 5000 units a day. He said it was very important for COVID. I had COVID..... no more than a dry cough for a week and a 4 hr fever.

I think vitamin D is one of those interesting things that isn’t really practical. Lots of studies show that people with low vitamin D’s do worse with many different things. Nothing that I’m aware that says that supplementing people really helps with it. Nor do I think there is good evidence to tell what the “right” amount of vitamin D is.

I tend to think that people who are less healthy tend to have low vitamin D’s, and they don’t do as well because they are less healthy, rather than the low vitamin D.

    T42,

Are you in the health field, as in being a doctor, nurse, nutritionist, etc.?

I ask as my wife was encouraged to take 400 IU's Vitamin D daily by her doctor.

I‘m not saying you shouldn’t take vitamin D. I’m saying there is lots of evidence that having a low vitamin D level correlates with doing worse with infections, and I think the relationships isn’t necessarily causal. There are a lot good reasons to take vitamins d, but I don’t think treating an infection is one of them. Nor is there wide concensus as to what vitamin D levels are optimal.

I probably didn’t say it well. Sorry.

Hives, itchy burny, moves around. Prevents sleep.

Don't know if related, started for me 40 days after J&J. Two weeks of misery and now my doc prescribed some prednisone pills that have helped.

Literature says relax, most hives go away within 6 months. Dermatologists hate these kinds of patients since they are usually the third or fourth doc they have seen about the hives.

Animals get lots of Vit D.

Animals dont have docs n drugs.

Animals rarely have herd decimating diseases.

Maybe vit D and Illness ARE intertwined.

    Just a thought.

You haven't paid my veterinarian bills.

I was referring to WILD animals.
    Not domesticated/farm live stock.

    You vetting all those.
I do pay my dogs vet bills but usually always PM like rabies etc.

I dont vet all the deer and hogs and coons and everything wild on my land.

My point was more that YES Vit D aka sunshine does have health benefits.

They don't generally globe hop or hang out with sick people either.
Interesting comment. I wonder about the pets of those who contracted the China virus. If, as they say, it was transmitted from a wet market in Wuhan (bats to human) then it would stand to reason that it could transmit back from human to animal. I haven’t heard of any pets dying from this.
