    Speaking of bicycles...

I recently rode a friends mountain ebike on a local trail and promptly scared the shit out myself on some unexpected whoopti do’s. It’s torquee and lightning fast on the throttle and can get away from you so fast you’d be locked up, legs sticking straight out, wide eyed with panic in the blink of an eye. Imagine that, on a bucking bronc.

Ebikes are def the future for in town commuting.

Do they have AC and SiriusXM built in now?

Dumb. Takes as much power to cool down an overheated place than keeping it reasonably coolish all day.

Yep..sad to say I just learn that last week when our AC went down Sunday night. The temp the next morning was 85. Got the unit up and running Monday morning and it took what seemed like forever just to get it down to 80.
Normally I'll put it up to 80 when I go out and down to 77 when I'm home. During the normal course of a day to go from 80 to 77 only takes maybe 5 or 10 minutes. When it broke and went up to 85 it was at least 2 hours to change 5 degrees.

I have a 72-76 degree schedule set on the thermostats, and they'll raise to a max of 80 if we're not home. Still use a ton of power though, this is from yesterday:

Edit: You can visualize my A/C cycle times pretty well on that chart too. Kinda neat.

You have to understand the spike charge, this time it lasted 15 min. Distributor has to buy or brown out when capacity is exceeded. Only for the time it exceeded! QThey are only supposed to charge US the spike rate during the spike, right?

People on that Griddy nonsense are screaming right now. They're getting billed $300+ in mere days to cover the spike in wholesale power prices.

Yep. It's a blood bath right now.

I unassed that last Saturday. 10 days in and I was already at over $100.

Here we go again. ERCOT has issued another emergency notice.

Demand is lower than the other day, but capacity is down because wind generation is pitifully low.
