I prefer a tent over shipping containers...

    Why?

Spend a little time in one and it'll remind you of the cell you spent all those years in!

My plan is to get a 20' container, and to make a storage shed for the lawn equipment, mowers, and the livestock feed. From what I understand, if they are closed and locked, they are rat and mouse proof?

To each his own, but they look like big hunks of trashy junk to me.

    You couldn't 'give' me one...

Put that thar connex thingy next to my decrepit old car that's up on blocks and just on the other side of that broken down old, abandoned/rat infested house trailer...

Yep, that's a real good look...fits right in with my junk yard motif...

Was not there for that time period but friends at Lake City told me they sometimes found bodies in them when returned from war zone for refill. Guess stowaways didn't anticipate shipping time.
While I was there Army sent us the biggest front end loader you can imagine so we could load them on railcars but whoever was in charge forgot to send us any containers or orders to fill and ship one.

    Business as usual.

Check the prices. They keep going up due to the pandemic. They are in short supply.

Did a search of Craigslist locally, and several places not far away say they have plenty and plenty more available. How true that is, I have no idea. Prices do seem to have gone up some. From a couple hundred dollars to over a thousand, depending of size and condition.

I bought my first shipping container 10 years ago
    I've bought 3
I've never seen one for "a couple hundred dollars"
A 20 ft one, dented but decent shape was 1200-1500 back then
    A nice 20ft here now is 3600-4100

I just bought a new (one tripper) for 4700 last month

I think you misunderstood what i said. I said the prices had risen to a couple of hundred to about a thousand over the previous costs of them.

If I could find them for a couple hundred each, I'd have about ten to fifteen delivered here to the house!
