Has anyone had experience with Condors plate carriers?
I haven't got a lot of money and people say they're not too bad if you aren't wearing them every day out in a war zone.

A lot of people say the MOPC is a good one, but I've also heard that the cummerbund is pretty loose, which makes me question their other products.

    Thanks for any input.

No thanks. Very uncomfortable, molle straps out of spec, and generally too bulky.

I reccomend saving up about $150, and get either this https://www.awsin.com/proddetail.asp?prod=52813

    Or this
    https://ferroconcepts.com/collections/adapt-system/products/the-slickster

I've had both, the AWS got traded away, and just have the slickster now, and had the condor years ago. The jump in quality is extremely obvious, and its worth saving up for.

The aws sucks in the summer, and isn't as padded as the slickster. The slickster doesn't have molle loops, but you can use various chest rigs with some itw buckles

This was my AWS in regular guise and full retard guise.

Side plates suck, but a cummerband is still nice, even if its just some elastic or semi rigid straps.

A semi low profile carrier with ceramics is the way to go

It helps to have a belt to hold the stuff you need RFN, a few rifle and pistol mags, IFAK, knife, etc. Use the carrier to hold stuff for your belt since it sucks to reload your gun from your carrier. Hips better support weight, so don't overload your PC.

    molle straps out of spec,
When did you buy? I have never gotten anything out of spec infact my experience was opposite.for example I was told tactical tailor would be better and the tt stuff ended up being shitty.

This was a few years ago, each loop at the end of the row would be too large, and at least one loop in each row was too small. Plate fit was sloppy to say the least. Near any carrier can pass a torture test, eventual wear and tear is what will kill a carrier. Thats how you find out how well the corners hold up, how long the velcro lasts, and if all the extra material is for durability, or because the people who drew the patterns don't know exactly what they are doing.

You really do get what you pay for, a $150 carrier shows up condor like you wouldn't belive. And god forbid you try something like a first spear vest.

Seems like Condor could be a gamble, albeit a cheap one.
I'm leaning toward the Condors, even though I would love to be able to afford the Slickster (had my eye on it a few days ago).

I guess if I am going to save up for one of the higher end ones, I can just get a cheaper one now and see how it goes. If it's no good, I'll get another one later - and if it is good, I've got spare money for other stuff.

@Sam7sf Which model(s) do you own?

Zack, you got any input or advice for layout? As a civilian everything I know is from run n gun with friends that were in the army who showed me what they like. Sense we got this thread I’m love to see how others gear up.

@Sam7sf Hows the cummerbund? I hear you have to overlap it at the front to get it feeling snug, but that means you have less velcro for the flap that sits on top of that.

never adjusted mine. Lol. Worked for me the way I got it minus adjusting the shoulder straps depending on what I’m wearing.

3 rifle mags, some simple first aid stuff, maybe one or two small things depending on what exactly you may need, like a radio, boo boo kit, batteries, etc.

On my slickster its a simple IFAK and TQ, with one or two ar mags.

For heavy duty LARPing, I'll put on a Haley D3CRX, which has spots for 4 rifle and pistol mags, though I'll use a rifle mag pouch and 2 of the pistol pouches for other stuff, a light, multi tool. But 99% of the time the carrier is kept slick.

Everything else is on a belt, which has been cannibalized for parts

Most of my gear is sitting in a tote now. I’m leaning towards the Greyman concept. The tactical stuff is good to learn for shtf but it really is just larping lol.

I have soft body armor that takes plates front and back only. Probably wouldn’t notice I’m wearing it in winter with a rain jacket.

How well do backpacks work with plate carriers? The reason I like the Slickster is because the shoulder straps are thin and would prbably work well with my bug out bag if I needed to wear both.

Or would it just be a horrible experience?

Depends. My ocpc sucked with whatever pack i put on, the slickster is better, but its still a plate carrier under a pack, it's only going to be so good. I found a small pack like a haley flat pack isn't too bad, its too small to get too obnoxious
