I have only owned one compact 1911, a Colt defender .45acp. It was not 100% reliable. I eve tually got rid of it lile lost of my Colts. Only have 2 left i think. All the colt commanders and govt sized 1911s I've owned have been reliable.

My Springfield LW champion operator in 45 has been flawless in the 1200rds I’ve put thru it from brass, steel cased, and HP. Only ammo issues I’ve had was light primer strikes using reman from freedom munitions.

its been 1200 after this weekend it’ll be 1400. The pistol has broke in nicely so far without any mechanical hiccups.
But I agree it’s need more to be worn in.

    Those assertions are absolute BS.

I have compacts and CCO's and they have operated flawlessly with a variety of ammo. As have those of other folks I know who also shoot compacts.
Agree, I think this concept is from the 70's before progressive springs and multiple springs were around.
I have a Kimber Micro 9 and a Kimber Pro covert carry custom shop both are flawless in operation , the Micro is a little ammo sensitive
