Not all officers, but most wouldn’t harm a law abiding citizen. Too, I think the prospect of neighborhood involvement would loom in a decision making process.Same thing people have said many times in history. Just before they were turned from citizens into subjects. Nothing magical that says American can't go that way. Over half this country just voted for socialism. Did no one notice?
Police are enforcing unconstitutional emergency orders right now (granted, not all). Sometimes with enthusiasm. Police are "just following orders" and allow criminals to loot, burn and assault. And you think all officers would stand up and refuse to follow orders on gun confiscation?
Agree, but let's face it. It happens.Merely an observation and a personal opinion.
Anyone that takes an oath, to uphold the laws, rights and freedoms, that violates that oath, IOW's, saying they were "just following orders" is IMO, using that as an excuse for their own self-serving purposes. That person was corrupt of their character and morals to begin with.
At some point, we all will have to answer to a higher authority, and justify our actions, and the things we did.
Most everybody is rolling over on the unconstitutional emergency orders. I suspect a good many people would meekly surrender their arms.IF they try it will NOT be pretty.
There are many of us who have lived our lives, done what we needed to provide for our children and grandchildren.
That said, I will die a free Citizen-
ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!
