    I guess the 38-55 caliber makes it difficult to get ammo that might ruin the collector's value!

    Not really. You can find it and it's very easy to reload. I'm not sure I'd be shooting that one much though.

    There were 19,999 made. Current value $895, issue price $600. In 100% condition, unfired in box.

    Gut feel tells me that number is low. I suspect if that rifle was listed for $895 it would sell very, very quickly.

    If I owned one, I wouldn’t sell it for that.
